The credit is priced in Rabata’s rates, so it goes further than the number suggests. Hot storage lists at $0.01 per GB per month, which works out at roughly 415 TB held for the whole two years. On the backup tier at $49 per 10 TB, closer to 850 TB. Rabata is a small S3-compatible provider rather than a hyperscaler, and that price gap is the point.

What you get

Storage is the line that grows quietly while you train, and it keeps growing after the model ships. The grant covers that line for two years.

  • Up to $100,000 in credits against both storage tiers, hot for active data & backup for archives, with two years to spend them.
  • No per-request billing. Every GET, PUT, LIST & DELETE is included in the storage price. Rabata’s own example: a job reading 10 million objects across 100 epochs would run past $5,000 in request fees on AWS S3 pricing alone.
  • The S3 API, unchanged. boto3, s3fs, the AWS CLI, PyTorch loaders, TensorFlow pipelines, Hugging Face datasets & MLflow all work by swapping the endpoint URL to s3.rabata.io.
  • EU or US placement. You pick the region at bucket creation, which is what makes GDPR residency answerable in one line.
  • Security defaults that are not an upsell. Private buckets from creation, IAM permissions per bucket & per key, SigV4 over HTTPS, and Object Lock on the backup plan.

Not building Gen-AI? Rabata will match your storage bill

The $100,000 grant is for generative AI products. For everyone else Rabata gave InnMind a second route, and it is not on their website.

  • What you send: a screenshot of your last 6 months of cloud storage usage, from a bill or a usage dashboard, to support@rabata.io.
  • What you get: the same amount back in Rabata credits, which covers roughly six months of storage.
  • What it takes: no grant form & no pitch. Rabata adds the credits to the account directly.

Rabata confirmed this to InnMind in June 2026. Worth pulling up your current storage bill before you assume the grant is the only way in.

What founders use it for

Four jobs come up again and again in Gen-AI teams, and all four are storage-heavy in a way the first cloud bill rarely predicts.

Training data that gets read hundreds of times. Multi-epoch training re-reads the same dataset over and over. With no request fees, the cost of an epoch is compute, not access.

Generated video & audio. Output storage is the expense founders underestimate most, because it scales with users rather than with the model.

Checkpoints, weights & experiment artifacts. MLflow and DVC point at the same endpoint, so versioned models and logs live in one bucket instead of three services.

Backups & long-term archives. The backup tier is flat at $49 per 10 TB with Object Lock, no minimum retention period, and restores that cost nothing to pull back.

What $100,000 in Rabata credits actually covers

Rabata publishes the grant figure and publishes its prices, but never puts the two together. Here is that sum, plus the three things worth knowing before you spend a week on the application.

The credit in terabytes $100,000 across 24 months is about $4,160 a month. At $0.01 per GB that is roughly 415 TB held continuously. On the backup tier at $49 per 10 TB it is about 850 TB. Spend it faster and you simply hold more data for less time.
A cheap provider makes credits worth more Rabata’s own pricing comparison puts 576 TB for a year at $117,000 on Rabata against $195,000 on Amazon S3. A fixed grant is worth more terabytes wherever the per-GB rate is lower.
The benchmark is Rabata’s own The performance numbers come from a MinIO warp test Rabata ran and published. Their own table shows AWS S3 ahead on raw download throughput (1,816 MB/s against 1,107). Rabata leads on mixed operations (346 against 151 MB/s) & small objects (696 against 319 ops/s), which is closer to how training reads behave.
Pseudonymous teams will not clear it The form requires a founder’s LinkedIn or X profile, a registered legal entity with a country of registration, and a KYC check. If your team is anonymous, this is not the programme to apply to.

The two-year clock is the other thing to plan around. When credits run out you are on list price, which is still low, and because everything speaks the S3 API an exit is an rclone sync rather than a migration project.

Who is eligible

Product A generative AI product. Rabata names AI video & audio generation, streaming pipelines, training-data repositories and other data-heavy workloads.
Company A registered legal entity. The form asks for the entity name & the country of registration.
Founders A public founder profile on LinkedIn or X is required, and it is checked as part of the application.
KYC A simple KYC verification runs before credits activate.
Funding No requirement around VC backing or funding stage. Rabata confirmed this to InnMind in June 2026: a startup name, the founders & a brief description of the use case is enough.
InnMind plan Free with any InnMind account. You do not need a paid membership for this one.
Decision Rabata reviews each application after the call. Acceptance is not guaranteed.

How to claim it

  1. Create a free InnMind account, or sign in if you already have one.
  2. Open this deal in the InnMind app and click Access Perk.

Terms worth knowing

This deal is the Rabata $100,000 Grant for Gen-AI Startups, run by Rabata. Acceptance is at Rabata’s discretion and is not guaranteed by an InnMind account. Rabata states the grant as up to $100,000 in storage credits, valid for 2 years, applying to both the hot & backup tiers. The terabyte figures on this page are our arithmetic from Rabata’s published prices ($0.01 per GB per month hot, $49 per 10 TB per month backup) and are not published by Rabata. Performance figures are from Rabata’s own MinIO warp benchmark. Two details on this page come from Rabata directly rather than from its website: that InnMind founders are eligible with no VC or funding-stage requirement, and the storage-cost matching offer for non Gen-AI startups. Both were confirmed to InnMind by Rabata in June 2026. The Rabata service is operated by RCS Technologies and its terms are governed by UK law. Claiming needs a free InnMind account. Programme terms are Rabata’s as published in July 2026 and can change. Deal details verified July 2026.

Questions founders ask

How much is the Rabata storage grant?

Up to $100,000 in storage credits, valid for two years. The credits apply to both of Rabata’s tiers, hot storage and backup storage, and Rabata states there are no hidden fees.

How much storage does $100,000 of Rabata credit buy?

Spread evenly over the two years it is about $4,160 a month. At Rabata’s hot-storage price of $0.01 per GB per month that is roughly 415 TB held continuously, and on the backup tier at $49 per 10 TB it is about 850 TB. Rabata does not publish these conversions; they follow from its own price list.

Who qualifies for the Rabata Gen-AI grant?

Four conditions: you are building a generative AI product, you have a registered legal entity, the founders have a public profile on LinkedIn or X, and you are willing to complete a simple KYC check. Rabata publishes no funding requirement, so bootstrapped teams are not excluded.

Does Rabata charge for API requests or egress?

There are no API request charges on either tier, so GET, PUT, LIST and DELETE are included in the storage price. On hot storage, egress is billed at the same $0.01 per GB as storage. On the backup plan, restores carry no egress fee.

How long does the application take?

The form has eight required fields and takes a few minutes if you have your usage estimate ready. After that there is a 15-minute call and a KYC check, then Rabata makes a decision and activates the credits.

Is Rabata compatible with AWS S3 tooling?

Yes. Rabata implements the S3 API, so boto3, s3fs, the AWS CLI, rclone, PyTorch loaders, TensorFlow pipelines, Hugging Face datasets and MLflow work by changing the endpoint URL. That also makes moving data back out straightforward.

Can I get Rabata credits if I am not building Gen-AI?

Yes, through a second offer Rabata gave InnMind and does not publish on its site. Send a screenshot of your last six months of cloud storage usage to support@rabata.io and Rabata matches that amount in credits, which covers about six months of storage. No grant form, no pitch.

Do I need a paid InnMind plan to claim it?

No. Rabata is free with any InnMind account. A free account also gives you the full startup deals catalogue.
