The part worth more than the credits: enterprise security is free at every tier. WAF, DDoS and bot protection, CDN and three enterprise domains come at no cost even on the $10k tier. The credit amount is gated on funding — $10k bootstrapped, $100k and $350k for partner-backed startups — so plan around your stage, not the headline.

What you get

Cloudflare splits this into two parts, and founders usually fixate on the credits when the free layer underneath is the bigger prize for an early team.

  • Usage credits — $10k, $100k or up to $350k depending on your tier, valid for one year, spent on Workers, R2, D1, Workers AI and the rest of the developer platform.
  • Enterprise security and networking, free at every tier — three enterprise domains, unlimited Business and Pro plans, a WAF with 1,000 custom rules, DDoS and bot protection, SSL, CDN, DNS and a 100% uptime SLA. This does not touch your credit balance.
  • Support that scales with the tier — the community and Discord on the entry tier; an account manager, expert sessions and bi-weekly Solutions Architect office hours on the higher ones.

What founders use it for

Cloudflare sits at the edge of your stack, so the credit and the free layer get spent on the parts every internet product needs from day one.

Putting a real security layer in front of the product for free — the WAF, DDoS and bot protection and the enterprise domains are the part that matters on day one, and they cost nothing regardless of tier.

Building on Workers instead of running servers — edge compute, Durable Objects, KV and D1 draw on the credit, so an app can run globally without a traditional backend bill.

Storing data with no egress fees — R2 (covered up to $10,000) removes the egress charges that make object storage expensive on the big clouds, which is a common reason teams move data to Cloudflare.

Serving AI inference at the edge — Workers AI is covered up to a per-tier cap, so early AI features can run close to users without a separate inference contract.

The three tiers, and what the $350,000 actually needs

The credit you get is decided entirely by your funding stage and whether your investor is a Cloudflare partner. This is the part to read before you apply.

Tier 3 — $10k Bootstrapped or self-funded, under $1M raised. No minimum funding and no partner needed — the tier most early teams land in.
Tier 2 — $100k Under $5M raised and funded by a Cloudflare affiliated partner. Adds an account manager and expert sessions.
Tier 1 — $350k $5M+ raised and funded by a Cloudflare affiliated partner. Adds priority support and office hours.

Two honest reads. First, the $350k and $100k tiers require an affiliated-partner investor — that is your VC or accelerator being a Cloudflare partner, which is separate from InnMind. Second, the free enterprise security is the same across all three tiers, so even a bootstrapped team on $10k gets the WAF, DDoS protection and enterprise domains that would otherwise be an enterprise contract.

Terms worth knowing

This deal is the Cloudflare Startup Program, run by Cloudflare. Acceptance is at Cloudflare’s discretion and is not guaranteed by an InnMind membership. The tier and credit amount are set by Cloudflare from your funding stage; the $100k and $350k tiers require an investor that is a Cloudflare affiliated partner. Some products are capped or excluded: R2 is covered up to $10,000, Workers AI up to a per-tier cap, and AI Gateway, Registrar fees and premium network services (Magic Transit, Enterprise Spectrum, dedicated IPs) are not covered. Questions founders ask

How much Cloudflare credit can a startup get?

The Cloudflare Startup Program runs three tiers: $10,000 for bootstrapped teams under $1M raised, $100,000 for teams under $5M raised with a Cloudflare affiliated-partner investor, and up to $350,000 for teams that have raised $5M+ with a partner investor. Credits are valid for one year.

What do I get for free, regardless of tier?

Enterprise security and networking at no cost on every tier: three enterprise domains, unlimited Business and Pro plans, a WAF with 1,000 custom rules, DDoS and bot protection, SSL, CDN, DNS and a 100% uptime SLA. These do not draw on your credit balance.

Who qualifies for the $350,000 tier?

Startups that have raised $5M or more and are funded by a Cloudflare affiliated partner — meaning your VC or accelerator is a Cloudflare partner. That partner requirement is separate from InnMind. Teams with less funding land in the $100k or $10k tiers.

What can the Cloudflare credits be spent on?

Usage-based services on the developer platform: Workers, Durable Objects, Workflows, Workers AI, KV, D1, Queues, Vectorize, R2 storage, Pages, Images and Stream. R2 is covered up to $10,000 and Workers AI up to a per-tier cap; AI Gateway, domain registrar fees and premium network services are excluded.

How long do the credits last?

One year from approval, or until they are fully used, whichever comes first. Cloudflare does not grant extensions, so the twelve-month window is worth marking from the day your credits are confirmed.

Do I need a paid InnMind plan to claim it?

Yes. Cloudflare is one of the perks reserved for InnMind Premium members. A free account still lets you browse the full deals catalogue.
